Want to give me money?

I'm doing a sponsored "fun" walk on Saturday, the massive distance of one mile, to help kit out my school's new labs, workshops, and food technology rooms. Anyone feel like sponsoring me?

There isn't a proper online sponsorship thing as far as I know, but if anyone wants to give me money for this worthy cause the best way to do it is either to give it to me in person or send it as a gift via paypal. Either way please contact me first via the usual gmail address or Livejournal, don't send any money until I've done the thing. If you're a UK taxpayer we're a registered charity and can get extra dosh if you supply your name and address including postcode.

Flash replacements for laptop drives

Just occurred to me to wonder if anyone sells flash replacements for older laptop disk drives. It's not that long since the standard laptop drive was only a couple of gigs, a flash replacement with say 16gb might be a cost-effective way to add capacity and increase battery life.
