ffutures: (both snakes)

Actually two separate things, I hasten to add. Though it'd make an interesting story...

Got an e-mail today saying that the Veronica Mars S1 DVD is finally shipping, ought to get it in a week or so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this originally announced for October?

And saw the episode of CSI last night in which one of the bodies had been eaten then regurgitated by a snake, which was later found dead for various reasons. Am I alone in (a) feeling sorry for the snake and (b) saying "are you kidding" when I saw the ridiculously small size of the snake compared to the victim. A snake large enough to do the damage shown would be at least 15-20 ft, this one was about 6-8ft long.

Later edit - sorry, CSI: Miami

I didn't see CSI, but had you seen this story about a 13ft python eating a 6ft alligator (both of them dying)?

I think the snake in question swallowed a Pomeranian, not a person.

Veronica Mars was due out on Oct 11th. It's been out in the States for a while, so I assume that was the correct shipping date.

I have to say that largely I don't like CSI: Miami as I find it emphasises visual style over plot. New York is starting to get my attention but Vegas will always be my favorite, maybe because it's the first and it set expectation levels. I do think that Vegas plots tend to be structured better and I've yet to have that feeling that I've been asked to take a leap of faith that they have the right answer, unlike Miami where that seems to be the norm.

I watched the Veronica Mars first season on DVDs a few weeks ago, without having seen them before on broadcast TV. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. There was clever writing, sure, but somehow it just wasn't engaging. I suspect that at 35 I am officially burned out on highschool and the less I hear about it, the better. That would also explain why I didn't much like the Kim Possible cartoons.
