If you leave an empty Coke Zero bottle in bright sunlight on a hot day the label gets hot enough that the bottle deforms. Nice idea picking a black label for a drink aimed at hot weather!









Think I prefer the taste of regular diet coke anyway. Oh, I should point out that I had the lid off the bottle when it deformed, if anyone wants to try repeating the experiment.

What is the difference between coke zero and diet coke?

I've no intention of drinking either - recovering cola addict - but I'd just like to know?

If anything it seemed a little bland - I think I prefer the taste of Diet Coke, but I'd find it hard to put a finger on the differences.

I had a can of it a week ago. The taste reminded me of the own-brand colas produced years ago, i.e. recognisably of the cola family, but only a distant relative. Not as good as Diet Coke, and I prefer Pepsi Max anyway.

The "new normal" is how my friend Brian describes the current climate. For instance, we exceeded our annual rainfall amount in three months here in Boston: that's the "new normal." The current(?) heat wave in London, including your hottest day ever, is also the "new normal."

Probably all too true - it's going to be interesting to see how things change it this repeats every year, London isn't very well equipped for really hot weather.

In the US, the Coke Zero label is white, not black. It uses black as an accent color along with red, but I doubt there's enough black on the label to duplicate this. I wonder why they felt the need to change the label for the UK?

A plastic pop bottle left on a black surface in the sun is enough to get the liquid within above pasteurization temperature. Some aid worker or someone figured this out a few years ago, and they've been used as cheap water sterilizers in Africa since then.

to day I left a rather nice plastic coat hanger in the car
I took johns 3 piece suit to the dry cleaners and they game it to me because they would just throw it away and it was a good one- with an extra elasticated bit to hold the trousers on

Any way when I came back to the car 6 hours later it had deformed and melted!

Also the stearing wheel was too hot to touch and I almost crashed the car!
