I'm trying to put a small clue into one of my RPG adventures.

WITHOUT LOOKING

...if someone was to ask you to describe your engagement ring, how detailed and how accurate would the description be.

Not very. It's silver, with a ridged decoration on the shank, raising to a ring of small zircons surrounding a dark blue-ish stone. Which I maintain is sapphire but John thinks is something else. It cost £12 from Samuels, I remember that. We were only engaged for a few months, and it was 20 years ago. I do still wear it, though, so I should know.

OK, ring of zircons is more of a vertical oval shape, and there are 10 of them. Never counted them before, I don't think. And the centre stone is bevelled so it has a flat upper surface, not a point. It's not the sort of ring that catches on things.
