Another illustration of the Kobold tunnelling machine (for Forgotten Futures 9) mentioned in a previous post. Minor spoilers - don't read on if you might be playing in one of my adventures:

This one shows it on a railway wagon and makes it clear that it has treads - that it's a tunnelling machine rather than a really weird submarine. This isn't going to be known at the start of the adventure, of course, and the adventurers will have to work pretty hard to learn this much.

This looks a little phoney, and I may mess with it a little more. Also needs some troops guarding it. Comments please...

Update 17/8/04: Now messed with, troops added, etc.

I notice that in the new Thunderbirds movie, International Rescue's Mole no longer sports a giant screw thread, but rather many smaller revolving cutting-heads, looking more like a real-life tunnelling machine. That screw looks like it would go through clay or soil just fine, but how would it stand up to rock?

Good question...

Without wanting to say much about the adventure, it isn't quite up to spec in some respects. One of the goals of the adventurers will be to find out what it can really do...
