Any other brits seen the current Halifax building society advert on TV and instantly been reminded of the Crimson Mutual Assurance Society?

Kept waiting for the building to sail off the edge of the world or something.

Seems an appropriate rip-off, really, given the way the British building society market has changed into such a cut-throat business. Maybe they'll do a second version showing them privateering on the Spanish Main, taking down any 'Abbey' vessels they find. (Note for non-UK readers -- Abbey are another building soc-cum-bank, currently being taken over by a Spanish bank.)
