Negative!

...and there was MUCH rejoicing. Still a bit sniffly and coughing occasionally, but hopefully that'll sort itself out soon.

Still planning to test for the next few days in case I have a relapse or something, and try to be more careful about masking up in crowded areas and public transport - I was already doing that, but I'll try to be more careful about making sure the mask is on properly etc.

 ...another very faint positive.

Still slightly congested and sore throat, and still unfortunately showing as positive if you look at the test in a strong light. But it does seem to be pretty minimal, so low risk of passing it on, so on NHS advice I'm out and about, just masked up and using sanitiser a lot when I'm out of the house, and hoping the virus doesn't decide to stage a comeback tour. Once I'm actually negative i can see about giving blood again etc.

Still testing positive, but it still isn't a week since I first felt ill so I'm not incredibly surprised. Really hoping it clears over the weekend though! Actual symptoms haven't changed, I'm a bit sniffly and wheezy but that's about it. No temperature, no desire to eat brains, spontaneous levitation, bits falling off, etc. A bit anticlimactic but I'm not complaining...

Still not much in the way of symptoms - slight headache, runny nose and occasional cough, that's about it. No fever, slight loss of appetite but that's mostly down to not being able to taste things so well with my nose blocked. But I tested positive when I checked today so it hasn't gone away yet - I didn't actually expect to make a miraculous recovery in less than a week but it seemed like a good idea to at least confirm the first positive.

Fortunately I'm reasonably well stocked up with frozen foods and cans, and my sister has helped with a small shopping run, so I ought to be OK into next week.

To be honest, if I'd had this after a convention five years ago I would have dismissed it as "some sort of con crud" and gone on with my life without self-isolating etc., and probably spread it to everyone I know. The situation isn't hugely better now, a lot of people seem to have caught it at the con,  but at least people can hopefully handle the aftermath a little better.

Oh joy....

Some people at the Eastercon SF convention this weekend have tested positive for covid. So I tested myself yesterday morning and got a negative result. Today I started to feel a bit rough on  my way home from the con, so tested myself again as soon as I got home. And needless to say it's a clear positive. Fingers crossed it isn't too severe...
